Product Management Intern

Department: Engineering
Location: Orlando, FL

Job Purpose

Our Product team is growing and is looking to add a Product Management Intern. This role will partner with product managers, software developers, and UI/UX designers to contribute to the development of our products. The Product Management Intern will learn our product development process from early concept to market launch and will conduct research and analysis to help make data-driven decisions about our products.

The Product Management Intern will enjoy autonomy in executing product management best practices while receiving mentorship from highly experienced industry professionals. We are looking for someone who obsesses over the details and is ready to products and experiences that wow our customers.


Roles and Responsibilities

The Product Management Intern has a wide variety of roles and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Leverage primary and secondary research to deepen understanding of customers and their use cases

  • Evaluate and prioritize requirements in partnership with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, product development, etc)

  • Assist in implementing and engaging in product management best practices such as competitive analysis, analyzing win/loss data, roadmap creation, and more

  • Learn and apply critical storytelling and presentation skills while receiving professional feedback and guidance

  • Partner with UI/UX designers to define a product’s user experience and user test prototypes with customers

  • Partner with Engineering to build an execution plan for a product and prioritize what’s most important


Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Use and demonstrate empathy to understand the root cause of problems and look for solutions

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

  • Eager to learn and make an impact

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

*Due to the depth of the local talent pool, we are only looking for students local to the Central Florida area


Preferred Skills

Bonus points for any of the following:

  • Proven leadership as a founder, group leader or major scholarship/award winner

  • Prior product experience via product management or software engineering internship or venture capital fellowship

  • Entrepreneurially inclined having started a company or built a product (e.g. app, website, etc.)

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch.
